What do you need to rent a car in Tbilisi?

To rent a car with Mr Car Rental Tbilisi you need a valid passport and a valid driving licence. An International Driving Permit is recommended, especially if your licence is not in Latin script.

A security deposit is taken for self-drive rentals. The deposit amount, the minimum driver age and the insurance cover depend on the car, so ask us on WhatsApp for the exact terms for the model you want.

You can drive across Georgia: Kazbegi, Gudauri, Kakheti, Borjomi, Kutaisi and Batumi. Tell us your route when you book so we can recommend the right car. For mountain roads in winter we suggest an SUV with all-wheel drive.

We deliver cars to any hotel or address in Tbilisi and to Tbilisi International Airport (TBS), 24 hours a day. Delivery to Batumi and Kutaisi is available on request.

In Tbilisi we deliver to Old Tbilisi, Rustaveli Avenue, Vake, Saburtalo, Vera, Mtatsminda and every other district. Our office is at 6 Tsulukidze Street in Samgori, on the eastern side of the city.

Which car should you rent for Kazbegi, Kakheti or Batumi?

For the Georgian Military Road to Kazbegi and Gudauri, choose an all-wheel-drive SUV such as the Mercedes-AMG G63, Land Rover Defender, Ford Bronco Raptor or Range Rover Sport, especially between November and April.

The road from Tbilisi to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) is about 155 km long and crosses the Jvari Pass at 2,379 m. After heavy snow the pass can close for some hours, so check conditions before you set off.

For the Kakheti wine region, Sighnaghi and Telavi, every car in the fleet is comfortable on the paved roads. For the coast, the highway from Tbilisi to Batumi suits a fast, comfortable car such as the Audi RS6 Avant or BMW M5.

In the city, around Old Tbilisi, Rustaveli Avenue and Vake, a convertible such as the Ferrari Roma Spider or BMW M4 Competition Cabriolet is the most memorable choice.
